Archeology Site – 3rd Visit

I got to the site at 6:30am this morning, this homestead site was active from roughly 1840 - 75. I’m thinking today will be my last visit here, as the earth-movers are now parked at the entrance way into the field. My first find was an 1844 Upper Canada Half Penny Token, this was followed by a #2 size crotal bell. The finds weren’t the best today, but this is my third visit and the Arkies dug this site for almost four months last summer. :BangHead:

I always love the eyeball finds that pop up at these early homestead sites, such as buttons, porcelain and glass fragments. The large cast iron ‘foot’ likely came from a potbellied stove. I think the chrome-plated metal disc is from the taillight of a tractor. :thumbsup:

I actually drove by the site half a dozen times last summer following their progress, I felt that they were pretty thorough too.
Just goes to show, you never know what you might find when these people are through. :thumbsup:
