I was first introduced to the incredible value of a high quality forum when a 1993 Range Rover followed me home one day. I had been raised on Detroit iron and VW crankiness, so the Rover with all its quirks was new to me. When it started acting like, well, a Land Rover, I turned to the interwebz. What at first was a weekly problem or two with the beast, slowly became less than that with the repairs I made on it with the help of an awesome forum in the UK. Now I'm hooked on the stupid things and have two of them. Great rigs for getting into out of the way prospecting areas.

Anybody else here been bitten by the Land Rover bug. Here's a pic of my mule:

Although they have a saying in Australia, "If you want to venture into the bush, drive a Land Rover. If you want to return, drive a Toyota." :laughing7:

your to funny
and you don't even live in Australia

On a reality TV cop show, cops were in pursuit of a stolen Land Rover. The thieves put that car through hell. I never seen any car take so much abuse and keep going. It was unbelievable. Got my respect.

At least it's not a Jeep! Kidding. I can appreciate quirky autos, I drive Volvo and Subaru cars!

I've always heard that if you want to get where you're going, take a Land Rover. If you want to make it back, however, take a Jeep ;)

In all seriousness, I drive a Wrangler and have worked on a friend's Disco III quite a bit. I was impressed that the LR seemed to be designed to work on - I replaced the pump on his on the side of the road in about an hour with hand tools. I had to do it twice, but it wasn't hard.
