Are You Finnish? Or Were You Just Born Blond?

Quite often a waiter in a restaurant will ask me if I'm Finnish.

I guess its the light blond colored hair...

Really don't understand why they are interested in my heritage...

Anyways, my typical reply is, "No! I'm German."

This usually results in the glazed-over 'Deer caught in the headlights' look.
