On Cape Cod helping out the folks and hit one of Falmouth's many beaches. Finding nothing but change, then a solid 86 on the Deus (dry beach program). Here's what I found in the sifter:

I didn't have my glasses on, but I knew what I was looking at and was trying to keep my cool. There in the sand was another signal:

Okay, hang on a second...another signal:

About now I'm realizing I've just had the rug pulled out from under me, then:

That seals it. If your kids ever went to Pirate's Cove, or any oceanside gift shop, you know what these are. Oh well, at least I had a few seconds of excitement!

On the way back to the car I found one silver ring, so not a total loss:

At least you had the excitement of finding them. Even if fake. And then the ring.

I didnt throw those out there for you to find :tongue3:

that silver ring style is usually Portuguese

"The seven 7 blessings or seven 7 day ring has a variety of origins, one being Portuguese. ... A version of this ring can be called a Hope ring or Luck ring, depending on its origin location. Often the person giving the ring is telling the recipient that he/she will love that person 7 days a week."

I will hopefully be getting release by doctor next week - and will be heading to Cape soon
heard a lot of spots have no depositors (in waters) due to shark signs everywhere

Steve, on one hand; I feel for you... On the other; I think that I'm going to go to some of our spots and bury a bunch of fake stuff ;-) The ring is really cool, you're having an awesome season!

Hey Casper, that was my first thought that someone was playing a cruel joke on the next detectorist coming through! But there was also a matchbox and a plastic shovel so I think it was just a play area the day before

Don't you dare! My heart just about stopped on the first one...speaking of good seasons, you've been crushing it on the finds, can't wait to get back out with you guys

I also got a hand full too. Mine were in the keys though !! 15986212172645244762208542545928.webp

Had to be exciting at first. At least the ring saved your outing.

I pulled up one of those a few years ago. Same thing, minor heart attack, then after cleaning in the surf the realization that oh, never mind :(

I kept it though as I thought it was neat.

Still very fun finds! :occasion14:

Next time, we hope that you find the real pirate coins.

Quite a rush though! Nice work...

LMAO!!!!! I hunted a house last summer that had zero high tones but did have 2 giant fake cobbs, I’ll post them if I can find them or maybe I’ll drop them on the beach(;

Several years back I found one once on a beach in Bermuda--very encrusted. Something about it didn't seem legit though, and sure enough after removing encrustation the word "COPY" became visible :laughing7:

Heart stopper for sure. You had me going there. Congrats on the silver ring. Good luck!

I was a victim too, last year I dug one in a local park

:laughing7:

happened to me as well, only found one but enough for the heart to skip a beat hahahaha HH
