Was going through some old family boxes and opened up this Domino matchstick box.
Looks to have gold pieces and a note from my grandfather that reads "experiment. Arsenic sulphide with gold. Gelchel mine."
I'm new to the forum but have no clue what any of this might mean. Is the arsenic rock dangerous? Any clue why he would write "experiment"? I know nothing on geology so I was hoping you all could help.
He lived in California and panned for gold often. He passed away when I was 11 so I can't ask him!
