My wife, our friend John B., and I made a little trip south of the border to Arkansas to visit a virgin site where a late 1890's farm house once stood. The site was 15 minutes on a four-wheel drive goat trail off of the paved road. Now it is a cow pasture with scrub brush mixed in here and there. None the less, we scored three Indian Head pennies, 1895, 1897, and 1898, two "The Flyer" overall buttons with the 1903 Wright Brothers Kitty Hawk airplane embossed on them, three harmonica reeds, a Union .44 or .45 caliber RIMFIRE cartridge, (maybe a firearms expert can help me with caliber and dating,) and numerous other pieces of Victorian-era farm life.
My wife won the "Iron Man" contest with a cast iron stove plate, plow point, and a "corn row hoe," head, which looks like half a hoe from the factory. Thanks for looking, happy hunting to all. Sub
