I found this in a holler on my property in lower middle Tennessee Does it look like an arrow head or just a rock? Any guesses on age or worth if it is an arrow head?

Welcome to TreasureNet. It could be, for future reference, always include pictures of all sides and something as size reference like ruler or coin.

A "maybe" point. Unifacial, at least...! Nice!

Looks to be one or at least it appears to have been "worked". Coulda been used as a tool too perhaps. What State are you in? Those in your area will be better able to know, as various areas had some really unique designs for tools and even arrowheads etc.

It certainly looks worked but the wear way up high is a bit hard to explain

Yep, its a point. I notice the stone looks like it has a softer section in it, and the cleave of the grain was likely not the same there. This may have resulted in the un-even lay of the edge, and in true form, once one side was indented, the other was worked to be the same to give it balance in flight. Nice point. I would estimate it as a later point, maybe 800 -1,000 years old? my dusty guess. points of thousands of years more age, were of finer quality, as hunting was continuous and farming had not become the way of life. As agriculture replaced hunting, the talent for stone work lost importance. A friend of mine who is quite the expert, showed me points from 500-800 years ago, they were crude. He then showed me points from 3,000 and even 12,000 years ago, which were thin, sharp and beautiful. Some even made from clear quartz crystal stone. I am not the expert he is, but I have fished with him, and picked "projectile points" with him. Thats the best I can offer, nice point you have there, being unusual, it is a keeper. : ) George.
