Can someone tell me how to tell if one of these these is an omar (naturally formed) or some sort of artifact? I have a whole rock garden full of these but these two just look different.

I have hundreds of omars, and I too have some that appear to have been utilized. A couple of them look just like those. I bet those fit the hand. Before anybody gets mad about the fit the hand thing, I just want to say, imo, that the vast majority of the stone age industry, was broken rocks made to fit the hand. We tend to only recognize their finest works.

from what i understand, holes like that are formed in a river when and eddy makes a small pebble go round and round for a VERY long time..making the hole

In my opinion the dimple should be totally horizontal when the rock is laying flat. I see some definite artifacts behind there though. Show that heartbreaker serrated point.

This one? I didn't find it, I got it at a flea market. Bought a cigar box full of whole and broken points for five bucks.

I'd use those to push down on a stick for a bow drill.
Thats what I was hoping they might be. They both fit perfectly in your hand.
