Went out to a new park today dug 3 rings from 6 to 8 inches 2 read as silver one was in the gold range. They were all junk! Got a signal of 99 down 8 inches turned out to be a aluminum key commeritive , found a token with an eagle on it figured it was old turned it over and it was a 1988 video token. Found a 1926 wheat penny. I got a 52 nickel signal 3" down it was in a gravel with dust it turned out to be a 1976 5 pfening coin so I thought. I will take 1875 over 1975 all day long!

What the heck is an 1875 German coin doing in Spokane? Totally weird. Leavenworth is quite a ways away from there. Cool finds tho!!

Leavenworth didn't start till the 60's. We find a good amount of foreign coins here. Last month club members found a ancient Roman coin and a couple of hundred year old Chinese coins in the parks

Nice finds Mackdog like that token...

Hi everyone. My first post, however, I've been lurking here for sometime. I also want to comment on the community here. What a fantastic bunch of people.

I think I might be able to provide a reason why that German coin ended up that way. During WW2, many German Soldiers were interned at prison camps in that general part of the US. Although I could be completely wrong in my observation, I think there is a good chance the coin could have originated from one of those soldiers. Perhaps a lucky coin handed down from Grandfather to Grandson.
