ATB 5 oz silver coin--- QUESTION!!!!!!!!!!!

I have a question, I ordered my 5 oz hot springs quarter from the US mint 4/29 at AM hours... on the site under order details, it says the following:

1 unit backordered. Expected to ship on 05/14/2011.

Does this mean I am going to get it, or does this mean something else? I don't know the answer, if someone is familliar with the US mint, please help me out, your help is appreciated.

"Back Order" status typically means that they either sold out of them faster than they expected or didn't order enough of them to begin with and had to put in another order which will ship to them in May so they can fill all the orders that came in at that time.

So, you should get it...just have to be a bit patient.

Everyone's status is going to say backordered, regardless of when you ordered. They are going to fill the orders on a first come first serve basis.. That means, the earlier you ordered, the more likely you are to receive the coin.

From what I understand, their website is not able to update the status of the coins, so when they sell out the website will still be accepting orders and there will be no way to know that they have sold out. If you ordered after first 27,000 orders you will be put on a waitlist. I'm not sure when you will find out that you are on the waitlist, but even then they will not be able to tell you where you are on the waitlist. From that point on the waitlist orders will be filled on a first come first serve basis (when one of the 27,000 orders cancel, the waitlist people will be moved forward, etc.).

P.S. do not give your order number out to anyone. The website is not very secure. Anyone who knows your order number AND your last name can just go to the usmint site and cancel your order.
