Ate 2 hotdogs, found half a Franc! Oh and a Merc.

Hi Everyone, Had Hot dogs for dinner and went detecting at an old School Bldg afterward. Found some clad, 2 rolled souvenir pennies, a 1987 half franc coin and a 1926 Mercury Dime. First silver coin I have found detecting in 3-4 years. Praise God! Paul

Congrats on the Merc & the half-franc, which sure is a pretty coin! In my nearly 3 years detecting I've found only 2 silver coins, but since the first one was a surface Peace silver dollar, I didn't mind --- until my son continuously pulled up Mercs, Walking Libertys, etc. to my constant clad, lol. Finally in teeny junky park, I got my first Merc and then went around squealing about it for days, lol. Andi

Yes the franc is indeed a beautiful coin, I was lucky enough to have been in Europe when they still used them while on a school trip, must have been 1997 at least, also the old Italian lire and the Spanish peseta. The new Euro coins are not really interesting at all, the bills yes but...well, at least it's easy to use in most of Europe, true. Congrats, E
