Hello all.
Well I got out today for a very quick two hour hunt before the rain came. Turned out to be an eventful one at that also.

I pulled my first gold in my first full year. I have some very nice silver and relic finds though. Granted I had used the fisher f2 all last season. Now I'm not putting the f2 down at all, I love it especially for the$200 price tag. It's just not a gold detector. I got the ATP this year and being in pa I didn't get to start hunting until about two months ago.

Lately though I been focusing on pulling some gold. Trust me haha, the last three hunts I have plenty if foil, tabs, and nickels to prove that. Way more then I normally would have. Sometimes looking for gold can be slow and boring. The patience and perseverance had paid off finally.

I went to a site where I figured I wouldn't find any old coins so I decided I would dig all nice low tones and see if I could pull a ring or something of that nature. Well sure enough not even a penny older then 1960. $2.03 to be exact for the clad. I also pulled a nice pendant the has initials but not marked anything. I thought it was silver w a gold plated inlay. But idk I'm thinking maybe it's pewter. Maybe someone would no on here. My best find of the day is the 14k mens wedding band, my very first one. Trust me I was ecstatic, no I wasn't jumping through trees, but I did pit it on my finger for safe keeping and good luck hahaha. The ring pipes out after about seven tabs and three nickels or about a half hour into it.

Well thanks for looking everyone and let me know what you think my initial pendant is made of.

Nice ring. I know how you feel I think I have a 5 gallon bucket full of pulltabs since my last gold ring.

Congrats nice finds. If pulltabs were gold i would be living in the taj mahal.HH

After digging that many pull tabs you deserve gold..Nice..

NICE RING! I'll guess it hit around 55 on the at pro.

Killer Ring man!!!!...Ive found a few nice Golds with my ATP...Some read in the mid- 40's others in the 60's

I can tell you its a nickel magnet for sure too!

The pendant might be gold. If it was vermiel, the silver would have shown up when the initials were etched on it. Have a jeweler check it out for you.

A very nice ring!

I'm curious, what sort of low tones do you tend to listen for? I mean, do you cut off at a certain level or do you just dig all signals when you're doing this. (The latter would be better)

Nice job cleaning the park too!

When I'm looking for gold I dig mostly anything from 42-62 vdi wise. This ring had no scratchy sound at all it was a consistent 47-48 basically but u could here how crisp it sounded really that's y I dug it. Of course tho, u do have to dig pretty much anything especially if it's a new site so u can get a feel for the location. But yeah I found nice relics all over the vdi scale, and I found silver that I thought was gonna b junk because of how jumpy n scratchy it sounded. So u really do never no whats gonna be under the coil.
