Nice looking button. If h

It has some gilt on it you can try cleaning with some aluminum jelly.

I believe what you have there is a Confederate Staff button, in fact I am 100% sure of it.

Ridgeway Civil War Archive Confederate Officer Buttons southern manufactured locals

Look for

B6215 Confederate officer button, eagle facing right with 12 stars on a lined field with border, Confederate wartime manufacture, blank back with wide channel, (22.3mm)

I believe that is the one you have.

And that is an outstanding button

John

Better yet the one above it

B5737 Confederate officer button, eagle facing right with 12 stars on a lined field with border, Confederate wartime manufacture, blank back with wide channel, (22.3mm)

Is the exact match

John

nice finds congrats HH

That's the one thanks for the link. Figured it was a confederate with the droop wings but never thought it would be co officers button. AWESOME!!!!

And they said it was hunted out that there was nothing left to find. Just goes to show it only takes one swing to pull up a great piece of history. HH everyone

What's the potential value of that button I love it

Dig until your arm falls off

I have looked online and they are priced between 300 to 1500 depending on what shape they are in

Nice ! ATP's are awesome.

Yes they are if you take the time to learn them. Had mine since February and still learning new things and tricks with it.

That is one KILLER button! Too bad it had no gilding, but in great shape, with the shank, that's outstanding!

I've only ever seen one dug personally.

Cheers,

Buck
