Act of Cow? Witnessed an outage occur once in Canada, was an abnormally large Raven. Watched it land on a line just as i was going to fill up on fuel one friday morning. There was a sudden flash, a loud arcing sound then a huge raven flying away. Shut down most fuel pumps across province and alot of phone along with bank service as well.

My Phone is AT&T

my Internet and TV are Comcast/Xfinity
so I was unaware till the news clip popped up on YouYube .

when I Don't need to use my Phone , & No one calls
It's a Normal thing :laughing7:

My wife had the SOS symbol on her phone most of all day, my phone and data worked fine. Same AT&T service, same phones.

Most likely it was software bug in an update or new software program installed on network. Speaking from experence you do those kind upgrades at night when traffic is slow, outage began around 4am. I have done software upgrades to switching offices that caused all phones to go down because of software issue in the upgrade software.

They won’t admit to any fault. They never do. I couldn’t tell you how many times I’ve called a phone company to have them investigate a problem, they check and tell me everything seems fine on their end, so it must be a problem on my end …. Yet ten minutes later magically everything starts working again.

They sent another message saying they were “making it right” by automatically applying a credit to the bill of affected customers that was “the average amount of one day’s service”. Something tells me if I divide my bill by 30, whatever amount they credit will be considerably less than that.

It must be nice to get an automatic adjustment to the bill.
It works the total opposite here, no service.
Oh everything is working fine, must be your phone.
Now power it down please.
Hello? Grumble

Start all over again.
We need to for you to reset your phone...

Each time these calls are about 1 hour...
In the end one gets compensated $10 per hour they spend with a call center.
1st investigation they gave us $450
2nd investigation they increased our data from 40mb to 200mb a month and reduced the bill by $50 a month.
But they still blame it on everything except their end.
