Recent two outings to the same city park from the previous posts. The results, one 1887 Indian head cent, 7 wheats, most from the twenties. A dateless buffalo, followed by 4 war nickels on the same outing, thats my new silver record. Second hunt produced an even better nickel, a 1869 Shield nickel in really nice shape, just feet away from where the war nickels came, so i thought i might had an other silver nickel, but it was much better. Silver showed up in the form of an old ring, no markings but its unquestionable Silver. A ball button, a much newer shank style button, also a porcelain button, a pipe stem part, a rusty skeleton key, a junk plated ring, looks old. A very nice Elgin ladies pocket watch probably from the 20s or 30s, the other item with glass, im clueless as to what it was, maybe also some sort of watch. 12 Colorful marbles also showed up, kids really played here back in the day, thats why this section is so productive, the area measures about 20x20, so i bet there is still more lurking and hiding deep within the iron and other odds n ends also joined me. GL & HH to all. 24131202_523466358010622_6617658361075229425_n.jpg

Love the assortment of finds you recently collected and especially the ole marbles! Congratulations !

Nicely done! 🙌 War nicks were one of my ballbusters...found one back in '80 then...nada!!! Working a football field now that's given up SEVEN of the little buggers in the past 3 months. Feast/Famine, I guess. 😂

I really like everyone of those finds...

Wow,, what a nice assortment of excellent finds. I have a soft spot for marbles because they remind me of a time when the toys once used by children were so simple. The 4 war nickles found in a single hunt is quite a feat. Elgin was quite "The Watch to Wear" at one time. Is that one gold? It may have a Hallmark on the inside of the back cover.
Congratulations on your finds.

Good job. Thanks for posting it!!! That's a lot of goodies

I took me a year to find first one, since then I have found several, for their low silver content they clean up really good.

Yes the marbles take me back in time when I used to play and treasure them with my life, long gone are those days. The watch I'm pretty sure it's plated, but a really heavy plate because it's intact. I will have it looked up by a friend who knows more than me.

Nice finds. I seem to remember watching a movie called "Attack Of The War Nickels" back in the day.....Oh, wait, no. That was "Star Wars, Attack Of The Clones". I knew something was attacking something. Anyway, I digress. Congrats! :occasion14:
