Since the ground is frozen with a nice layer of snow over it, I have to stick with my first way of treasure finding heading to auctions. I won a large box of steins ($5) and in the bottom of the box was a silver platted bank. When I took it out I heard a chich-ching, well a rattle anyway. After opening the bank I found:

merc dimes
'39
'36 x2
Buffalo Nickle
1923
And a bunch of Roosevelts
'64 x 5
'63
'62 x5
'61 x2
'60 x2
'58
'57
'56
'54
'50
'46 x2

So I was happy with my "bonus"

$5 for a large box of steins! Wow! I need to go to some of the auctions you go to. Congrats on the silver and buffalos. I agree with Gypsy on the bank. Better pics, looks interesting.

Re: Auction Bonus

Very cool, 57! Nice cashe find.

And no cleaning too!

I would investigate that bank. I think that might be the real prize.

Thanks for sharing.

Re: Auction Bonus

banks are highly collectible on ebay...does that bank have a date or anything on it....check it out... you may find you'll get a few good bucks for that baby on ebay.

Re: Auction Bonus

Love dem auctions!!!! I have come away from them with some really great deals. Those box lots are usually where the hidden goodies are. I paid 5 dollars for a box of odds and ends and came away with a mint Gettysburg College Cup and Saucer from the 1800's that was valued by a collector at over 200. I ended up resaling the stuff in the box for nearly 500. That was something that I could do with such regularity that I considered quiting my job to do it full time till my wife explained to me the way things really were going to be!

Great find for you! Nice looking bank also.
