Picked up a couple of items at a yard sale last month. A Motorola radio from 1939, a wooden carpet sweeper from 1905 and and an under dash automobile record player from the 50's. Paid $10.00 each. Put all three items up for auction last night. Lost money on the radio and sweeper as they both went for $5.00 each, but the record player did well. The hammer came down at $200.00 which came to $170.00 after commission. Not too shabby!

Cha Ching brother :icon_thumleft: You came out way ahead so i would not sweat the loss on the other items chalk it up to a rough crowd.

I never knew they made such a record player. Very cool.

I am with Diggum, news to me too, and something else to be on the lookout for. Thanks for the tip.

I think we always have to keep the big picture in mind...we're going to lose some money on things we buy, but do VERY well on some others...so, as long as we are the plus side overall, it's good...can't get caught up on each individual item...good job!
