Auctions are a silver mans best friend(unless you have an iceberg).

Went to an auction yesterday, they advertised for some silverware on the menu, so I figured it might be a way to "dig up" some winter treasure. Turns out, I was right. My wife and I collect old silver, so I had an idea I was looking at good pieces, I did not know at the time just HOW good.

Pic 1 - roughly $300 worth; soup/punch ladels

Pic 2 - $100 worth; dessert spoons, gravy ladels

Pic 3 - $100 worth; sugar spoons, butter knives, flatware.

We also got another 40-60 pieces of tableware and serving pieces worth anywhere from $3 - $8.

All told, the total spent came to $42, I am pretty sure I did OK.
