Awesome Bonus Today "Native Copper Artifact"

Well how do I start this off, I guess I'll start with this, so I had today off work so I decided to head to a old park it is in a rough neighborhood and I was attracting the wrong attention so I drove the 30 minutes back toward the house and with it being only 9:30 in the morning I decided to head to a area I have been trying to locate a few old home sites on. I managed a few keepers at the one home site, I then checked my map and decided to head to a site that I haven't been to before, this spot turned out to be pretty awesome.
I started out finding a piece of an old bell followed by 2 more pieces of the bell "they all fit together also" then I found some melted lead and a few lantern parts, I slowed way down and got a low tone I dug down and found my first general service civil war eagle button. I also found 2 padlock keyhole covers 1 says D.M. & Co and the other has a crown and the letter F on it. And last I found the harmonica reed.
So with it being time to go I took the long way to the truck and walked down by the river I passed under a huge oak tree so I swung the coil on the way by and the only signal turned out to be a copper arrowhead or small spear point, you can see the crude hammer marks in it and it has a dark green pitna on it, as soon as I seen it i said this cant be what i think it is. I am in Michigan and the area I found it in runs the Indian trade route.

Well I tried to fix the title after it was brought to my attention this is not a trade point, it is a ancient Copper Culture spearhead. Thanks for the correction guys.

That is mind blowing to me to find something that old. Wow

thats awesome. was the point made to look liked chipped stone or is that the result of its creative process. I also found the same lock plate cover with the crown. you have a lot of nice display pieces there but that point takes the cake.

It looks like layers, like it was from the process of being hammered on most likely with a stone. I Googled Michigan Native American copper artifacts and there are a few resembling this one, all the ones I looked at online look to have the same layers or markings.

Not a trade point. Looks like the real deal to me. Congrats on a cool find.

Nice!!! Congrats!!!

Oh yeah that's a fine ancient Copper Culture spearhead, thousands of years older and way better than a trade point in my book! That makes what was already clearly an exciting find for you even better, congratulations and good luck finding more!

Wow that is awesome. Way older than a TP IMO

So very cool, if it could only talk. Congrats on a wonderful North American artifact! Sub 8-)

Amazing find there! Congrats on a seriously cool piece of "prehistory"! can I say that? It sounds cool and it's older than recorded history in America. Well anyway very nice and pretty amazing that you thought to keep it. I think a large amount of people wouldn't even know what that is!

Congrats on a great find. That had to be awesome to find one of those.

Amazing find that's a great display piece I've been looking for Indian artifacts also here in Mi that's freakin great. Well done my friend. Tommy
