Hey guys, this whole getting permission thing is much easier than i ever thought. I had another spot in mind for a cpl weeks and today I finally caught the homeowner at home cutting the grass, had a decent conversation w him about the history of the house and he gave me the green light to hunt away. alot of nails and trash at the site but it was a huge yard and as always i was determined to find some goodies. I dug a ton of pulltabs cause i was in "dig it all" mode hoping for gold rings or something. Managed to dig 5 nickels including my first ever War Nickel 1943P!
. Kept on gridding it out and pulled 5 more wheats 1945d, 1956,1909 (no vdb),1940,and 1936 to bring my year to date wheat tally to 65. Plus a 1961 canadian. Along the house i managed my 5th silver of the year, a 1946 roosie!
, actually 6th if you count the war nickel. And last but not least this one blew my mind,
A 1848 Large cent with a hole in it!!!!!:
That makes 11 large coppers this year! I have no clue how that happened!, this thing was literally only about 3 inches down, my pinpointer picked up a signal before i even dug a hole!!, My only guess is that it was near a huge tree and the roots brought it up
anyhow im not complaining. Being that it is holed i may wear it as a good luck charm when im huntin. Also got about $2.50 in clad, 3 horseshoes, the reflector looking thing, an old razor, and a lid to a princess pat cosmetic tin,and that's another first. thanks for looking and HH!!!!
