Found this after walking corn stubble for and hour! Absolutely nothing else in the field, not even a flake. It was less than 20 ft. from where I parked my truck and found when walking out. One of my best in 20 yrs of hunting! Also a few other finds for you to enjoy. I rarely post anything on here and welcome any feedback.

Thanks!

They all look nice but I can enlarge the pics

beautiful ones for sure

that whole frame looks great,,,all from the same area?

Thanks for showing your collection.
Your recent find is real nice, not so sure it's a dovetail, but that takes nothing away from it.
Before many resharpenings it would have been much larger, real nice find, congrats!!!

Great points! If I had stuff like that in my fields, I never would come home. Tony

Those are some fine examples and the one was well worth an hour walk.

Great artifact SAVES......

Mark, what do you think it is if it's not a dovetail? Thanks!

Those are as good as it gets !!!

"Specwar" , where I'm from we'd call it a "plevna"; an archaic variant of the same period as the dovetail.
They're notched like a dovetail, but on a sharper cornered base as compared to the ovate base that gives the latter it's classic basal curve. I'll try to find a picture showing the difference.
In your area they may get lumped together, don't know.
Typing points can differ a lot from one region to another.
Regardless it's a nice one!

Here's a picture that contrasts the two types: the second and fourth are plevnas with the straighter base line (tail), but they're are smaller than your piece.ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1432094874.747205.webp
