Axe almost complete

Well went to an island today and found part of an axe. My buddy swore I had the other part but I wasn't sure. Plus all my rock is packed up in the new house. Well it ate at me and despite the protest of my wife I went to the house and started opening boxes. Finally I pulled the half out and it fit! In the first picture the top part was found this morning and the bottom part was found in oct 2011. There is still a small piece missing from the hammer end and ill be looking for that forever.

I haven't put it down yet. Got some buddies that are pretty jealous. 1 year and 4 months and floods tides an waves and it was only 15 or 20 feet apart. If it was high tide it would've been under water.

What had happened was oct 2011 we had an incredible flood and a lot of sediment was deposited on the shore of the site. I saw the bit sticking up outta the muck. Then today after all that muck has slowly been washed away I found the other part. Love it

Every time I've matched up points, it really has been more exciting then if I had found the point intact to begin with. Found matching top half of a point 10 years to the week from the bottom half and in the same row of the field.

That's awesome. Yet to do that with a point. I do have one or two that I've found in the field but I found both parts the same day.

Thanks tiki. I found 5 ax bits in one field. Plowing again Ina month. Hope I can do it again.
