Axe head found!

I found this Axe on my property, it was about 8-12 inches deep, can anyone give me any information on it? How old it is, whats it worth, who made it? I can't find any markings on it. It was found near one of the oldest houses in the county. Thanks!

Looks like a shingle hatched for nailing on wooden shingles. I bought one in the early '60's that looks just like yours.
