Had to do a few errands today, so I decided to take the long route, and hit up
a few banks for halves. It didnt take long to deplete my cash reserve, as the first
bank I rolled up on had 810.00 in halves !!??! Bought 300.00 worth, and let them
know Id be back for the rest! The nice lady was ecstatic that I was taking all
these off her hands. She was all giggles.

Finds : 40% - 58 90% - 3 ( Walker, 2 Kennedy '64)

61 Keepers, and lots more left of the stash to get.

While bagging the rolls up in my canvas mint bag, she explained that an old fella had brought
all those in, as he had been robbed, and all his posessions were taken. She said he had
collected these for 30 years, and just said "screw it, Im done" after losing all he had. Cashed
them all in, and they all just sat in the vault until today. I may have just scratched the
surface of the collection. Im dreaming of full rolls of Walkers and Barbers waiting for me LOL.

We shall see next week. The tellers had NO clue about any value or worth. They were all giddy
for me, saying " This roll is ALL 1973 with no mintmarks " , she peeked and said, "Yep, no mintmark...
somebody musta screwed up !" I just nodded LOL. She thought they were something special.

Gave me her phone number, and told me to call ahead when I come, she will have them all boxed up
and ready for me. Ching !

(just an addition - I feel bad for the guy this happened to, and am not rejoicing in his losses, but they
are already cashed in, and someone is gonna get them , so it may as well be me :-\ )

Happy searchin '

I recommend going back there asap and getting everything in the vault. Someone might clue the teller in real quick. Or she might even talk about it to regular customers. They are only yours when they are in your hands. When they are in your hands, I look forward to your post of all your fantastic finds! Some pictures would be nice too! :) Good Luck.

Wow, really nice score! Congratulations! ;D Can you get back to the bank in the morning around 10:00 a.m.? I wouldn't even be able to sleep knowing those remaining rolls are just sitting there. Sick I know!

Great, great finds, but I wouldn't wait. Go back on Saturday morning.

Keep us posted.

This has all the makings of a classic CRH story! Good luck, Raptor. Seize the day, er, rolls!!!

Thanks all. This bank wasnt open this morning (Saturday). First thing Monday morning, Im heading
there.

It could be a big bust, but Im hoping not. The teller asked what dates I wanted as alot were marked,
and I said "older dates are good" LOL. She was digging in the enormously full box of rolls... then when
I said I would be back to get them all.... she stopped pulling them out on the counter. A bunch that I
got were marked with years, and thats what was in them. Unmarked ones had silver and a couple were
actually marked "silver"... so the person that cashed these in, knew they had silver and didnt care.

Thats the excitement.... wondering what those bottom 500.00 in rolls have... Ill report back Monday . I
did see dozens of homemade rolls in there.... just white paper taped up. I got chills.

Until Monday...... happy searchin' all.

LOL! ;D Feels good doesn't it! The wanton anticipation of great things to come. :) Good luck Raptor!

Well Diggum, it felt good yes ;D

Thats the fun part, the anticipation haha.

However, it was a bust :'( Managed to pull out 5 40%'rs from the remaining stash.
It could have went the other way just as easy.... just not this time.

Now its time to find a few other out of the way little banks that have a vault full hehe.

Good luck all !! Happy Searchin'

Nice pulls even if the 2nd bunch, wasn't as productive.
Sometimes you get lucky, sometimes you get zilch. The overall odds are good, though !!! ;D

That is a pretty good average there Raptor. That is not bad at all.....congrats.
