Was directed recently to a location that reportedly yielded pieces of interest years ago. While the “big” hunt begins after harvest and plowing next month, I was pleased, in this new location, to find an abundance of artifacts lying atop the dirt produced by the many gophers of the area. Among the pieces pictured here is a neat little chisel-type tool my daughter found last week. We’ve taken a number of intact Fresno points as well as a few broken notched pieces. Below is a variety of pieces picked up last week. I can’t help but wonder just what all is hidden amongst and below the prairie grass if we’re finding this much lying about on the dirt kicked up by the gophers. Hope to have some nice pieces to post soon has the wheat harvest gets underway.
