I like this site because just about anything could pop up. Tonight it was mostly shell casings but did get a Zip-Grip (whatever that is) and a nice ornate shoe buckle frame...nice to find a complete frame with this design!

Very nice buckle! Congrats!

Zip-Grip looks like it could be a simple ratchet strap part?

Dunno tho.

Just googled the Zip Grip patent number...clothes line tightener, 1946.

love the buckle, the zip grip is cool too, must have worked back then. heck most kids today don't even know what a clothes line is

Thanks! As nice as the buckle is the Zip-Grip is actually my favorite find from this hunt. I have a lot of shoe buckles but only one working Zip-Grip! :laughing7:

That shoe buckle frame is awesome...it's got little flowers on it! I do not recall seeing one like that before.

Very well done sir!

Amazing, in the old days before Internet it would take forever to find an answer like that

Coincidentally I just saw a fragment of this same buckle posted on FaceBook...and I'm pretty sure I have a couple fragments. Must have actually been a popular design.

I seem learn something with every relic post I read -- thanks for sharing yours, and congrats on the finds!

Very strange site for sure, but definitely worth continuing to hunt. A big colonial silver just might pop out next .....

Yeah, you probably would've had to travel clear to the Patent Office in DC to find out. Almost makes it worth it for Mr. Google to be tracking our every move!

Nice variety of finds! Congrats!

Nice design on the buckle.
I like the zip grip, that still works.
Proves they knew how to make things back in the day.
.....there may not be much left of modern times to be found later.
