Havent been able to go bottle diving much since ive been here. When I have gone there have been plenty of 1930s-1960s stuff, but harbour island is a good spot so I did an afternoon around the edge of the flats in front of town and got this. Im not really sure of age or what was in side, just know it a better one than ive gotten so far. You guys woudlnt belive all the cryers ive seen on the bottom, so I know thers good ones somewhere. Hope to go a lot more in the next 2 weeks. photo-138.webp

Anyone able to date this bottle ?? I was thinking a beer bottle from late 1800s but im not sure? No seams, hand applied top, black glass. Love to here some thoughts if possible.

You're probably right, Blak bart. 1890-1900 turn mould beer or something or other.

Thanks njkalgt. Im amazed at how well they clean up after so long under water. They all look like the broken one in the pics, but with very little effort they clean up like new almost. Seems like the black glass holds up to the sea better than most other glass.

Stretchy neck ale, black glass. Really green. Keep on diving. Jgas
