Both are 24" tall and about 11" wide. Person I bought them from claims his grandfather gave them to him 20 years ago and they are 100 yes old. (Not sure I believe this)

Overall, the are very nice and very heavy. Seem to be in too good of shape to be really old.

One on facing to left is supposed to be male. One facing right female. I paid more than I typically would but I like them.

what does the back look like? how do they hang? that might tell a lot.
 
Thanks for the link Dan. Will contact them and see what they say.

The backs are completely flat. They are solid and not carved out. There are two screws with meta wire for hanging them up but hardware is modern.
