I found this today while tearing down an old barn. I tried to research it but couldn't find another which was identical. There are no markings that i could find. Appx. weight 15 lbs.

I also found this old looking lock. Any input would be appreciated!

It looks some kind of counter weight or anchor, the screw on eye bolt would keep it out of any prison type of artifact.
 

looks like a counter weight for a field scale. cotton tobacco etc

Thanks guys. I saw one like it on the web and it was dated early 1900's. This one seems to be in great shape compared to it. Just wish I had the key!
 

Gate weight, they were used to automatically close gates on fences and stalls. Sorry about the crummy pic it was the best I could find on short notice....
