My brother may have flown you, he was a Warrant Officer, did a tour of Nam as a chopper pilot 67 to 68 He retired from Army right after the 1st gulf war. Died at 68 of cancer from agent orange in 2008. He fought multiple cancers over his lifetime.

He flew for the 92nd assault Helicopter company "Sidekicks", his call sign was SIDEKICK IV.

"92nd Assault Helicopter Company 3rd Platoon Guns "Sidekicks" - The 92nd Aviation Company became operational in Vietnam in October 1964 at Quin Nhon as a fixed-wing "Caribou" company assigned to the 14th Combat Aviation Battalion. In late 1966 the Air Force took over all Caribous Aircrafts in-country and stood-down returned to Ft. Carson, Colorado. The 92nd was reactivated in November 1967 at Ft. Carson, Colorado as an Assault Helicopter Company and returned to Viet Nam arriving at Dong Ba Thin. The 92nd AHC worked primarily for Military Assistance Command Vietnam (MACV), the Army of the Republic of Vietnam (ARVN), Republic of Korea (ROK) Units, and several Army Special Forces Units. In addition, they provided combat support to elements of the 1st Brigade, 101st Airborne Division, 173rd Airborne Brigade, and the 4th Infantry Division. The 92nd AHC operated throughout II Corps Tactical Zone. The Zone's terrain is a jigsaw puzzle consisting of flat coastal plains, valley farmland, arid plains, humid triple canopy jungle, and high mountains. The 92nd stood down and departed Vietnam in 1972. The 92nd AHC was awarded the Meritorious Unit Commendation."

A good friend was in the 1st Cav. early on,his name was Robert Hocking.He ended up doing multiple tours.I don,t know anything about what Battalion he was in,Just that he was 1st Cav. all his tours.Like TH,s brother he passed a couple years ago from cancer.

He was a proud vet and wouldn't have changed his military life for anything. He joined the army reserve in Highschool in 1956 and retired in '91.
