I went today to a farm I only hit a few times last year, I was poking around different spots I had not hit last year. I came up with nothing but garbage and trash after a couple hours. I then hit "the farm where nothing can be found" I found a very well worn 1901 Barber Dime along with a few other relics.
Enjoy the pix

Nice finds for a trashy and a hunted out spot!
My last Barber Dime was at such a farm house where there was 'nothing more to be found'.

I need to get Scrappy down where I found the Barber, I was for sure in the green briers. I would love to go in there and a few other spots on this farm with a brush hog. I know I'd find stuff.

Nice finds. Did you try any lemon juice and soft toothbrush on that button? Looks like it's still loaded with gilt! [emoji2]
Maybe you did use something already. Just hard to tell from that one picture!
I used navel jelly, there is a dirty pic up top right, but the pix do it no justice, it really is beautiful.

Thank you, I appreciate the reply.

I heard good stuff before about naval jelly. No experience with it at all. What's the process on using it and what type of store would usually have it? If you don't mind me asking? [emoji2]

Home Depot has it, I believe it's real use is removing rust. A quick coat with a light brushing using a toothbrush, leave it on for about 5 seconds at a time, then repeat as necessary. It works great on silver etched buttons , tompac, silver washed and gold anything. Just make sure you rinse off with fresh water very thoroughly. Pull out some of your buttons you did with lemon juice, I bet you will be amazed.

Nice finds. Love the 1801 Barber dime. :tongue3: Dont see many of those.

I was looking at that and laughing, if I had posted it on my regular FB page one of my non-metal detecting friends would have asked if I put the wrong date?
