I got permission to do a friends farmyard, I thought it was around 1900, turns out the house was built in the 1940's. Their kids were on me like glue, their little puppy attacked my coil for over an hour as I swung. Unfortunately I didn't find much, some new-ish pennies, a toonie that I gave one of the kids, and the little Piglet pin.

Bummed, I decided to hit the one and only beach around here on my hour drive home. Bottlecaps, and that's it.

When I got home I just had to stop at an old spot to hopefully redeem my poopoo day haha. First target, an 1898 Barber dime!

After a 7.5 hour hunting day I finally had silver. It's nothing too special but I love finding anything that predates the town, and even the province. ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1445214572.166053.webpImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1445214684.370268.webp

Congrats on the Barber. My first was an 1898 dime. Wish I were finding more.

Wow, my first one was an 1898 as well! Got 4 or 5 1898's now. I guess it's a pretty common date, but I won't complain.

Congrats on pulling that Barber. :occasion14: They are scarce in my area.

Congrats on the permission and on finding the early Barber buddy! :occasion14:

That buckle looks pretty cool. What do you know about it? Congrats on the Barber. I only have one Barber dime in 3 years.

Thanks OD. The buckle was in the 1940's farm yard, so I'm guessing the buckle is from the same era, give or take 20 years. It was fun to dig, I had this daydream that I was at colonial cellar hole, and this was a priceless relic...then I snapped out of it when the kids and dogs ran over to see what I dug haha.

Hey, a Barber is a good hunt. Pre 1900s are even better.
Persistent pay off, you didn't go home skunked!
Congrats Mike.

Congrats on the barber

It's sometimes the case one drives all over to find the greener grass and a lot of times it's close to home. Well done on the Barber it certainly saved the day.
