Baseball size Stone Ball in WV

Gentleman found this large stone ball while digging in his garden in Southern West Virginia. Looks to large to be a Native American play stone (at least I've never seen one this large) and there were no mills in this area so doubt it is a mill stone. Any other ideas?

I don't get the impression it is very old.
