Today I was out with Kimsdad for a short hunt in the woods
that's been producing a lot of CJ prizes. . . plus a few V's.
Today was no exception. My first target after an initial ground
balance was a solid pull-tab signal but it seemed WAY too deep.
I pulled out the shovel and about 5-inches down, was a "smooth"
V-nickel. I didn't even try to catch a date after it was dug because
it was almost like night with the tree canopy and the rain clouds
moving in. After getting home, I could just make out 18**. . . so
at least I hit the late 19th-century mark.
After digging 4 or 5 "rolled" foil balls that sound really sweet,
I hit another target that sounded twice as solid. . . a lead basketball
figure. At first I thought this might be another CJ prize but it's
WAY too big. Besides. . . I've never seen a b-ball CJ
Anyway, it looks fairly OLD.
Neil & I would of stayed longer but the rain was hell-bent on cutting our
hunt short.
Thanks for looking!
