Battery question

I use the Dollar store batteries. Would I get better detector performance by using duracells or enegizers, or another "brand name", and would they last longer than the cheapies.

Duracell...by far the longest lasting. Energizers suck.

No you would not get better performance. You other brands last longer by a bit is all. Just be sure to buy Alkaline and not the expensive Lithium. Lithium last an extremely long time but the voltage is wrong and detectors trying to use them are unstable.

I buy Kirkland batteries from Costco and think they are as good if not better than the higher priced ones. Consumer Reports did a comparison of batteries a while back and listed them as very good. I know the price is right.....
