wow!!!I think it is!!.....?

Certainly this would be an effective and deadly weapon and useful tool also......reminds me of a modern weapon I have that is similar to this.

Very cool axe, what's the size of it?

Oh sorry, when I saw the title "battle axe" I thought the thread was about my wife! :occasion14: :laughing7:

Wow, it looks like you might have found a trade axe/tomahawk from way back.

You have my banner vote

I concur with the others. 18th century spike tomahawk for indian trade. Banner.

Here's some better photos, probably not worth much monetarily, but how can I clean this item up and keep it's integrity? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Well, that is some tomahawk, I don't know much about them but I do know a thing or two about saving it. If it were mine I would soak it in apple cider vinigar for a month, then knock off any loose rust and soak it again in fresh vinigar. When you are happy with it then a coating of light oil or rust stop and let that soak into the metal. Finaly if you want get some cast iron paint for fireplaces and give it a light spray.
Then have a handle reproduce for it and head to the hood. Nah just kidding about the hood.
Banner vote going in.
