Battle of the Indian Heads. Set and then broke my cumulative Indian Head Record with an 1879. One site 20 Indians. 70s Brass Smirnoff Token.

I have two sites that are neck and neck on indian head totals. Site A I just hit 19 all time at the beginning of the month. I was able to tie that at site B on a post work hunt.

Then 2 days later snuck out the 1879 of site B Along with some wheatys and the token.

Score is site A 19 Indians , Site B 20.

Unfortunately, after site B's prior use it became a 70s drink your Budweiser in the woods spot and apparently Smirnoff ha and leave your trash. and also dump your party trash everywhere. There's can tops, pull tabs, bottle caps all over the first two inches of soil. Plus a fair amount of iron from dumping. A real pain to detect. Upside it's produced 3 flying eagles and some good Indian dates in nice shape for being dug 1876,1871 and now an 1879.

Sounds like you have two great sites to detect. I always find it quite frustrating when a good area has been used as a party spot/ dumping ground. On the bright side, it feels very rewarding when you manage to pull a keeper out of the trash. Congrats on your ever growing tribe!

I've found some old bottle and milks from people dumping circa 1900 to 1920s in there. Then it turns to 1978 Budweiser can bits. Heck there even was at one point an entire cast iron Christmas tree stand in there. After April forgot it in there between the bugs and overgrowth and ticks. This is the time of year for picking up aluminum in there to hopefully find something. Flask came out with the 1879. Just a slick pre prohibition but it's whole.

1 is an old picnic spot in the town. Map research. You really need to have good sense for the roads and shapes of unique intersections to figure your area. A good iner treasure sense helps too.

here is something I enjoy doing also. I some times go to nursing home and talk to the elderly people there and find out what they remember as younger people. Such as where did they play sports,Picnic places. They usually enjoy anyone visiting them

I've hunted the site of a long gone 1800's Church last year.
Didn't find one single Silver coin but I did find (2) Flying Eagle Cents and (17) Indian Cents.

The flying eagles are tough! Sounds like a great small cent site. Trying my luck at my ol barber coin hot zone today. It's really turned of since July though.. Trying different coils and crossing fingers.
