Battlefield-found iron whatzit. SOLVED!

Whites MXT, XLT
Iron whatzit, CW-period at a depth of 11". Outside diameter 3", raised inner-ring diameter 2", center hole (no threads that I can see) 3/4", 7/8" thick top-to-bottom. This is at least the 2nd one of these whatevertheyares to come out of this north Georgia battlefield area, and nobody they've been shown to has a solid guesstimate on what they are, so any insight on it will be greatly appreciated.
