beach combing

I went down to the Purdy Spit today here in Gig Harbor, Wa. I spent an hour scouring the upper beach for stuff. I found a frisbee!! Then some punk kids took it from my stash spot. Oh well. Then an old gentleman walking by asked if I found any pipe bombs or hand grenades. Not yet!!!!

He must've been about 80 yrs old. Maybe he was just being funny/friendly. People are always curious, and I enjoy talking to people.

I like to talk to people I meet at the beach. You get a lot of good leads that way.

I agree I will always stop to talk to some one you never know what they will tell you and it's just a nice thing to do.

@bottlecapjack, I am from the northwest as well. Renton area. Have you tried anywhere in Allyn by chance? I always scope out that old church but have never asked permission to hunt. I have some good leads on a few spots around western washington and ive been trying to hook up with another local. (New to site) let me know if youre interested.

Hi JSMITH. I have not been to Allyn, MDing. An old church sounds like an interesting spot. If your ever in this area let me know, I might be able to join you. All I have is a $180 bounty hunter. Its not the best but eventually I want to get a better one. Even still, it finds stuff, so im game.

Sounds good. I make it across the bridge every once in a awhile. My machine was only $220, works well enough for now. Im sure we could find some good stuff! Happy hunting.
