My last post recorded a 1925 SLQ and an almost 2-ounce silver chain.
Since then I've been on two hunts and did hit silver on each, so let's see if this continues to the next one.
Thursday, August 16th, I went back to a park where I dug 2 silver Washingtons. I was digging mid-tones down to 12 (nickels on the Equinox 600) up to high-tones. Never got that silver dime I was hoping for but did dig a very crusty nickel that gave just a hint of shine at the rim that it mat be silver. After cleaning it turned out to be a 1943 P war nickel.

Also got a button
and what looks like a buckle
and a toasty IHC, dated 1886
and...…
A miniature beach umbrella that is an enameled piece of brass

That was Thursday. On to Saturday and we hit the same elementary school as last week. Tough conditions with super-high humidity but with all the rain the ground is easy to dig and there was little evidence we had been there the week prior.
After a couple hours of searching I finally got silver and it turned out to be part of a vintage brooch dating from mid-20th century.

This is a sterling brooch that used a copper/brass pin which had dissolved away over the years. Note the irregular silver solder imperfection on the horse's right flank. That is where the remainder of the brooch was attached. The "B" hallmark is for Beaucraft out of Providence, RI and the original design was a galloping mare with her foal.
Beaucraft started just after WWII
and they copyrighted various maker's marks some of which used "Beau", "Beaucraft", or a stylized B as a hallmark.
The piece I dug uses just the capital letter "B"; not sure of it's vintage.
Thanks for checking out the post and HH and GL on your next hunt.
