beaches in ohio

Does anybody know of any good beaches to hunt in Ohio I would prefer southwestern Ohio

I found this quote on the Ohio State Parks Website.

"Use of metal detectors is allowed on the sandy portion of the beach area at any of our state park beaches. Written permission must be obtained from the park manager at the park of your choice to use a metal detector in any other park area."

Looks like the beaches are fair game and you can even hunt other areas if you get a permit from the ranger!

That being said, here is a link to all of the state parks in your area that have swimming beaches. I would try them.

I'd check with each State park. I'm from Ohio, and some of them wouldn't let me hunt between Memorial day & Labor day. It makes for a great day after though. Can't offer much more, I was from the north, and made day trips into southern Oh.

Checked out your link to the state park rules.

Goes to show the absurdity of Gov. minds. i.e. you can detect, but you can't dig. You can detect, but you can't keep ANYTHING you find. You can detect, but you can't dig deeper than 3 inches, You can detect, but you can't keep anything worth more than $5. on and on and on.

New York state permit rules say you can detect with a permit, but DON'T go deeper in the water than KNEE deep!!!!

Let's jump thru the hoops and beg for scraps while we're at it!

I would try Ceaser's creek close to Dayton or CJ Brown Res close to Springfield.
