Hi folks.
I found this bridle rosette/bridle boss at a site that has yielded colonial to mid 1800s relics.
The back and outer rings are pewter. The dome set in the middle is made of brass with traces of silver plating.
The double dome design seems reminiscent of 18th century bosses but I don’t see any examples with the bar in the back.
Any insight into the age would be much appreciated.
