Well, I have had a productive time metal detecting last weeks beautiful warm weather. Glad I got out because it is now 28 degrees with 3" of snow and ice on the ground :icon_scratch:. STINKS BIG TIME!! I headed over to the 1801 house early last week and dug my usual round balls, silverware, cut spanish, but a very unexpected colonial buckle showed up in the iron patch behind the house. I switched over to my 5" coil on my T2SE and got it worked well through the iron. Last Sunday was so nice and warm, I headed up with my uncle Joe to meet some friend in Henrico County, VA to do some CW relic hunting and what a day it was. In all, we bagged 141 bullets, some flat buttons, Eagle buttons, US briddle bit, and much more. My total bullet count was 42 sharp carbine rounds and a couple of eagle cuff buttons, and the US bridle bit. The best part was watching my friend dig 22 bullets from one hole and down 2 feet when it was over! Group pictures are him dig with us watching and drooling. Now, I wait for the snow to melt as time is ticking on the farm fields. Enjoy!! Bill & Dan I ask for your knowledge on the buckle please!! Thanks as always. Wes

Congrats on the awesome hunt! :occasion14: Maybe I should start wearing my East Carolina hoodie like you friend. Looks like it brought him good luck! :laughing7:

Wes, you sure have been productive lately! Great variety of colonial and Civil War finds there!

Very nice, congrats

Great group of finds !

That's a great bunch of finds there Wes. I haven't seen a buckle quite like that before, but it may be an 18th century stock buckle. There are some similar ones in my book, but they're all a little more ornate than yours. Could be a hat or knee buckle as well. Maybe Cru can help here. Very cool find!
