Dug this a while back at a cellar hole that dates 1700's. Have found a few othe pieces of copper jewelry there with beautiful craftsmanship. Found this one put it in the box with the others. Few years later a friend comes over with some finds and low and behold he pulled an identical button from the same site but with shank still in place. I know the GW buttons where sold in packs. Just hoping maybe I have something more than just a dandy of a button. Thanks for any help

Circa 1780, Dandy style button - but one of the best crafted examples I have seen.

What a super button! I found this button in The Complete Button Book that looks to have very similar construction.

Fyi the size in the book is about 36mm.
