What's up everyone

Not my normal silver and coin posts. Took a break here this summer with the heat and lack of rain and got into some privy digging and bottle dump digging. It basically started when me my bro and buddy were searching some long forgotten town site when my buddy noticed a hill with old glass hanging out

After hunting the foundations with minimal results we started poking in this cliff side and quickly realized a lot of the stuff was turn of the century and older.

So here and there I've been going down and digging for a few hrs. It's tough going hard work and very dangerous. It's loaded with relics but most are really toasted. It's nothing to find 20 old spoons in a few hrs

we've built a sifter and just keep digging this place out. It's heart break one after another seeing old bitters and blob tops coming out broken. But we hope some older glass is still hiding in there

i pulled out a beautiful old pocket watch. I also dug out a few privies with my son and recovered a cool old iron lock. Got a few old coins to with the detector at the site.

Im gonna keep working this site until it's time to swing the units again.

That does it I'm gonna hit the bottle site I found a year ago is that watch silver sweete bottles and relics Thanks for sharing the pics

No plated but a very nice turn of the century pocket watch. Still has most of the glass in the face. Lost the hands on the face because they were rusted a few letters and numbers wore off but I think it cleaned up well for the sacrifice of losing those few details

Yeah dig out those pits. There fun and hold all sorts of stuff

Good Luck

I started on one a year ago by an 1850s grist mill the stuff on top was from the 30s and 40s little bottles like 2 inches high with some kind of chemicals in the old pottery some figurines lots of glass cant believe some of the great stuff you find. Thanks Ill post pics when I go!!!!!

Those are some sweet siftings. That pocket watch is killer. I also like the bottles and other relics.

Great finds, and that place has lots of potential.

<<<<<<<<<<WOW>>>>>

Nice array of finds. I like all of them, but I'm partial to the bottles and padlock.

I would end up spending so much time at a place like that. Congratulations on some really nice finds.

Thanks guys

Yeah it's hard to stay away from this place. It's a lot of sweat and hard work. Sucks because a lot of people know about this place and they picked it over pretty good. You gotta get down deep to find stuff. But then you have a huge over hang above you.

So basically it's a dig collapse process. We've literally moved tons of dirt. It's amazing to see this pile of forks metal cans rubble and shards of glass everywhere. Some silver coins have come out also.

I haven't found any silver yet but my partner has. I'll be back soon with more stuff. Got some nice cobalts today. Just takes a few days to clean them up

Thanks for viewing

You aren't lying about how dangerous it is lol. I took a boulder with shards of glass embedded in it to the ankle today. Can barley walk right now. And probably needs 4 stitches. Also got stung in the face by a bumble bee a few minutes later. I got so messed up digging thatjeremy and I sat and just laughed for 5 minutes lol. Man am I a wreck after this trip

Although I did get a couple beautiful cobalt inkwells today

Here is a pic of my ankle. Just a gash too the bone

And then a pic of my swollen face. I think I need to call it a day

I'm still laughing. One of my employees just stepped into my office and said what's so funny then I told them the story. It was a rough day down there today. The stuff we do for treasure. We'll be back hopefully with less stitches. I'm going back to detecting Friday safer lol

I can barely walk now. Damn Boulder must have cut through to the bone.

My employees were questioning my sanity coming back stung and bloody. They were like all for old bottles???? Lol. They just don't get it. Haha. But I will probably be right down there again tomorrow

Lol I'll bring the crutches. You only live once. Hope to get some more outta there. Gotta worry about lock jaw and tetanus from down there. You might die from something just swimming in that water lol. Talk to you soon man

Wow, what a great variety of finds! Plenty of "heart breakers" I'm sure; but great to see you've still uncovered some great relics. Good luck on future digs, and thanks for sharing!

I don't know. Today wasn't as bad as the day of the big collapse when I went head first into the creek lol

I got bored and counted the bottles I have at home

53 embossed med bottles
26 embossed local sodas
8 embossed milks
63 other keepers including (cobalts pontiled and unusual shapes)

127 blanks

Copenhagen snuff stoneware crock
Stilton cheese complete crock

3 Amber poison bottles

49 stoppers (3 embossed)
Silver 1899 barber half
Silver 1900 barber quarter
Your pocket watch

We have pulled at least 400 complete bottles at this point from the pit

But there are still 2 bottles I have found broken that I have to get complete. First is the White House vinegar jug. Just a cool jug

And I have found 6 of the spider web whiskey bottles. But not one complete one yet. Grrrr
