hello to all! i'm sure many of you were out as well enjoying the beautiful Spring weekend. i headed back to the "eagle pommel" spot with high hopes, and found some interesting items even though the ground was much more dry than i had expected. this spot is about two hours away from where i live and must not have had the rainfall that we did. i spent about 5 1/2 hours MDing after a hard and not too successful morel mushroom hunt. my brother joined me for some of the time, which was fun. it was his first time hunting in this spot and our first time hunting together in a good while. so that was fun in itself. he found a harmonica reed (that was #2 for this spot), the crumpled spoon, the unidentified item in the top right of the group picture, the unidentified iron item in the bootom picture, several horseshoes and many large aron items and some other odds and ends that i did not post. we both found the button-type things in different spots, but both found two together. we aren't sure what they are. i found the musket ball, harmonica reed #3, the brass tag? that has "burns bros makers havre de grace MD" on it, the item that looks like a cuff-link (does anyone know what this is, i saw a similar looking item in the last months issue of w&e treasure magazine in a group of civil war relics, a lincoln penny that i did not post (that makes about #10 for this spot, i don't know if in recent years there was a penny pitch there, it was used for family reunions) and various trash, of course. ther is no known record of this being any kind of war camp, but with the types of finds, i'm thinking it may have been. any input on this? the #2 item was found at another spot nearby in that was the yard of and 1800's house. it rang a solid 79 on my DFX, but looks more like it is made out of clay. thanks to all for looking, and may you have THing success!!
