It's funny. In one interview some years ago Barry Gibb stated that the album and soundtrack of Saturday Night Fever was nearly the end of the Bed Gees in the literal sense. Barry Gibb went on to say that when they recorded the soundtrack that they were just recording dance music. He stated that we didn't even know what disco was. Over night the album became a sensation and the Bed Gees were dubbed the" Kings of Disco ". Barry said this was one of the worst things that happened to the Bed Gees and nearly ruined their music career. He went on to say that Hate mail and letters threatening to kill them began pouring in from all across the U.S. and elsewhere. Funny stuff, unless you were a Bed Gee. I personally liked their earlier music from the mid to late to late 60's
