All Treasure Hunting
Hi Folks,
Former CR Hunter here. Been away for about 15 years. Had to quit because it was taking over my life. Recently looking to get back into the hobby, but not on the mass scale as before. Just want to have fun passing the winter days with nickels and pennies. My question: are the finds still out there? Or has the hobby become a desert for many people who have been around long enough to see such changes?

Welcome back, I too backed off from a daily hobby to a once in a while activity.
There is still plenty of finds to be had. It all depends on what you want and how much luck you get.
Collection dumps still occur
In this calendar year, I've found silver dimes (FDR and Merc), halves, quarters, buffalo nickels, key date Jeffersons, NIFC halves and dollar coins, wheats including 1909 Wheat (no vdb), teens, twenties and thirties, steel pennies and the rare IH.

The results of finding collectible coins is dwindling. Everyone is doing it these days and it has definitely slowed down. Even people who don't even enjoy collecting started looking thru boxes and bags just to grab some silver.

Welcome back, from Oregon!

Get out there and give it a try! You just have to be in the right place at the right time! Good luck!
