Before and After Hydogen Peroxide Cleaning mid 1800's Token
Hello! I found this William IV Coronation Token last year, first time out with my E-Trac.
At the time I gave it a few quick hydrogen peroxide baths, and it looked like the first picture. I then put it away thinking it couldn't look any better.
Well it's been about 8 months since then, so today I decided to try again. I gave it another bath, but this time I also lightly brushed it with a soft bristle toothbrush. The results were surprising!
Also to note, this token is made out of brass. Results will vary, especially depending on patina condition and possibly metal composition. Use method at own risk!
