Before weather radar

[PlzBSeated]

Found this nifty little item today. Issued in 1936, a promotional piece for the Lum and Abner radio show (way before my time). Apparently had a piece of litmus paper mounted in the window which changed color based upon humidity.

Today's finds...

Lum and Abner "Walkin' Weather Prophet"
(2) Wheatback cents 1916, 1917

From the days before television when families gathered around the radio for entertainment. That's very cool find.

I remember seeing one of these is an antique mall several years ago. It still had the glass and what appeared to be a piece of material which changed color depending on the humidity. Sort of like a mood ring detects heat. Interesting find in any case.
